Cargo Securing
Load Securing & Pallet Stability
Advice and Consultancy by CS-TS
Safe load securing does not start on the truck, but with the stability of the pallet and the packaging. CS-TS (Cargo Securing – Testing Services) therefore approaches load securing in an integrated manner: from pallet design and packaging performance to securing the load on the transport unit.
Pallet stability as the foundation of safe transport
An unstable pallet can never be properly secured. CS-TS specialises in the objective assessment and improvement of pallet stability in accordance with internationally recognised standards such as EUMOS 40509 and DIN 55415. Our analyses include:
- pallet configuration and stacking patterns
- use of stretch film, strapping and corner protection
- interaction between product, packaging and transport conditions
Based on tests and measurements, we provide practical, implementable recommendations, with a focus on safety, efficiency and cost control.
Load securing on trucks and containers
In addition to pallet stability, CS-TS provides consultancy on proper load securing on trucks, semi-trailers and containers. Each situation is assessed against applicable regulations and standards, including:
- EN 12195-1 (calculation methods for load securing)
- EU Directive 2014/47/EU (roadside enforcement)
- CTU Code for intermodal transport
Our evaluations typically cover:
- selection and positioning of lashing straps, anti-slip materials and blocking devices
- forces acting on the load during normal and exceptional driving conditions
- allocation of responsibilities between shipper, carrier and driver
Advice, consultancy and damage prevention
CS-TS supports companies with independent advice and consultancy, both preventively and in the context of damage and liability cases. Our services are aimed at:
- shippers and manufacturers
- carriers and logistics service providers
- insurers and technical experts
By jointly assessing pallet stability and load securing, we help our clients to:
- structurally reduce transport damage
- correctly assess liability risks
- comply with legal and normative requirements
- technically and objectively substantiate post-incident discussions
Independent and practice-oriented
CS-TS does not sell packaging or securing equipment. Our advice is fully independent, technically substantiated and focused on realistic, workable solutions.
Safe transport starts with insight, testing and sound advice. That is what CS-TS stands for.
